Hydrocarbon Lab

Hydrocarbon Lab

The laboratory is located inside the company headquarter in Kabul. The laboratory is a part of the quality control department, which is responsible for the quality control of oil and gas liquids and their derivatives. In the laboratory, we test all hydrocarbon materials by automatic and semi-automatic check devices. The testing procedures are carried out by our professional engineers with sophisticated devices using the standard methods. If the tested materials prove to be of poor quality, they are returned back to the lab. The test results are analyzed by our team to ensure whether the quality or the tested materials is according to the norms of the national standard of the country, and accordingly the quality license is issued.

There is a central laboratory for the stabilization of light and heavy hydrocarbons. In this laboratory, there are many experienced engineers who are engaged in testing hydrocarbon materials daily. New devices have been purchased to test hydrocarbons from oil, diesel, petroleum, gas liquids, and they play an important role in increasing the company's income.

The different testing devices currently used in the lab are:

Octane and cetane number device: To stabilize the octane indices in petrol oil and the cetane number, it provides Index number in diesel oil.

Fractional distillation device: To determine the parameters, it stabilizes the volume percentage in hydrocarbons, i.e. fractions 10 to 90% and defines the end of distillation and the beginning of distillation.

Flash point devices: To determine the spark number of diesel which includes light and heavy hydrocarbons.

Kinematic viscosity: For the part of lubricants, the stickiness of stabilizing materials is approved if it is in accordance with the technical norm.

Power point device: This device is analyzed according to the technical norm for the freezing point of diesel, oil and clouding point.

Sulfur device: Determining the amount of sulfur in hydrocarbons, if it is in accordance with approved national standards.

Liquid-Petroleum and Gas: Chromatograph with ASTM method

Chromatographic GC device: Determining the amount of sulfur (Peutane) in liquid gas and fixing the amount of Ethane and Cetane.

Liquid Gas and Oil vapor pressure devices: Determine the saturated vapor phase in oil and liquid gas to stabilize the amount of vapor phase in petroleum oil and liquid gas.

• Determining the gravity of hydrocarbons in oil and liquid gas.

• Determining the temperature in hydrocarbon materials.
