The department of quality control is one of the key and specialized departments at AOGC. The department operations cover Kabul city and several provinces including the 6 borders. This department also provides technical and professional services of quality assurance for government departments and the private sector. It ensures the quality of imported and exported materials and domestic production of the country through consulting. It ensures the quality of the purchased materials at the time of storage, supply and distribution. The department supervises the oil and gas liquids received from domestic and foreign sources. The major activities of the department are listed below.
- The quality control authority conducts the quality analysis of the purchased oil and gas liquids and petroleum derivatives
- The quality of the purchased materials is ensured by the authority before they are unloaded into the reserves. The quality confirmation documents are provided to the management of the reservoirs.
- When the domestic or foreign imported materials are stored in the AOGC reservoirs, then the sampling of the reservoirs is done by professional engineers using the standard methods. After testing the quality of the materials, the sales license is given to the commercial directorate.
- When the material is placed in the supply state, the quality control department will provide the applicant with the quality analysis of the arranged material when requested by the government administration and by the private sector customers.
- The quality test is carried out for the imported petroleum and gas liquids as per the approved guidelines of the standards directorate. The quality analysis is sent to the management of the department. Accordingly, after the material analysis is performed by the quality control department, the permission to discharge the material is given to the company's reservoirs.
- The Quality Control department is also responsible to measure the quantity. On the arrival of cargo imported by the private sector in the ports, the department checks the cargo documents of the arrived material. The amount of the quantity of the arrived materials is evaluated in terms of the nature of the materials. The quantity is defined as per the quality of the materials, the ambient temperature, and gravity, and accordingly the calculated details are sent to the management of the ports.
- The Quality Control department also stabilizes the production capacity of the refineries and the nature of the production for the domestic products that are produced by the private sector. The balance sheets of the refinery are under the control of this department.
- During the construction of the internal refinery, the quality control department surveys it with its technical departments and shares its ideas about the products and equipment.
