Installation of Petroleum Storage Tanks at the Rozanak Border Terminal

The Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation (AOGC) has successfully installed and commissioned ten (10) petroleum storage tanks with a combined storage capacity of 840 metric tons at the Rozanak Border Terminal in Herat Province.

According to officials, this initiative has been undertaken to strengthen the country's energy sector, improve the management of imported petroleum products, and expand Afghanistan's strategic fuel storage capacity.

In addition to facilitating the transfer of petroleum products from the Islam Qala Border Terminal, the newly installed storage tanks will accelerate the unloading of rail tank wagons and enable the timely clearance of railway lines.

This will help reduce unnecessary operational costs and minimize potential product losses.

Furthermore, in the event of transportation disruptions, the facility will provide secure storage capacity, prevent interruptions in the fuel supply chain, and ensure the continuous and orderly distribution of petroleum products to domestic markets.

The Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation remains committed to accelerating the development and modernization of the country's petroleum infrastructure to ensure the reliable and standardized supply of energy nationwide.

As part of its future expansion plans, the Corporation intends to increase the total storage capacity of this facility to 5,000 metric tons in the next phases of the project.
