A high-level Afghan delegation, led by Mullah Faizullah Tamim , Director General of the National Standards and Quality Authority, and accompanied by Mohammad Nasir "Rahimi" , Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation (AOGC) , met with Anar Akhundov , Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Baku.
During the meeting, the two sides held comprehensive discussions on expanding direct commercial relations between the Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) , assessing investment opportunities, and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Rahimi described Afghanistan's energy sector as a promising destination for investment and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with international companies, particularly those with extensive industry experience.
Representatives of SOCAR expressed their readiness to broaden cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to taking the necessary steps toward the implementation of joint projects.
Both sides emphasized enhancing collaboration in the oil and gas sector, sharing technical expertise, and identifying effective mechanisms for attracting investment.
They also agreed to further strengthen mutual trust and advance joint projects toward practical implementation.
It was further agreed that technical teams from both sides would continue holding regular meetings to ensure that the agreed initiatives are translated into concrete actions.
The Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation remains committed to attracting foreign investment and implementing strategic infrastructure projects aimed at supporting the sustainable development of Afghanistan's oil and gas sector.
